On April 2, 2024 about seven in the evening, I was placing my jacket hung up on a rack by the front door as you walk in. My husband and I started out our driveway headed for a walk when all of a sudden just about 3ft away I felt a bite on my upper left of the inside of my arm. Ouch I thought and I even spoke of it to my husband. We stopped to take my jacket off to do our best to see perhaps what it was?Unfortunately we could not see anything with our eyes. The sun was going down and dusk was setting in. Maybe that’s why we couldn’t tell. We also shook my jacket I had on. Nothing fell to the ground far as we could see. It didn’t seem to bother me much afterwards, so we decided to finish our walk. When we arrived back home, I took a bath, scratched my arm from itching in that area of the bite. Thats when I noticed a small welp. Went onto bed and didn’t think anything of it.

The next day, Day 2, April 3rd. That morning there was a red, irritated rash developing around the bite on my arm and spreading down towards my elbow. I called that morning and made a doctor’s appointment to come in. The doctors’s office got me in and I had it looked at and examined. Since being unsure at that time what could have bit me, the window of opportunity to have had it treated for a bite like from a spider, the length of time had expired. Instead they gave me Baxtrom antibiotics and a steroid shot and was sent home.

Day 3 April 4, 2024

The day I go in to see the doctor again at the same office. By then my arm progressed to looking worse. It was bruised the color blue, splotchy white, red and irritated. A different doctor examined me and placed me on a steroid pack, an antibiotic shot and Benadryl for the allergy. Instructions were to take two Benadryl at night to help sleep.

Day 4, April 5, 2024

I felt some relief and my arm where I was bit looked better!

Day 5, April 6th

I was feeling some pain, discomfort, burning, and a stretched, pulling down, dull pain kind of feeling. The skin on my arm at the bite area was irritated looking. It had a red, blue, and white splotchy look to it. I was still broken out in hives. As you see in the picture, there is a line drawn like a boundary so allergic reaction dose not need to go past. Very interesting.

Overall I’ve been icing it often and elevating it above my heart. Resting a lot and taking medicine as directed in hopes to find relief. I even started using a compression sleeve to try and get some to help alleviate the pain.

Day 6, April 7th

I didn’t keep note of this day however I remember I was in the most pain I have been in, by far. My arm where I was bit spread around the bite and down close to my elbow. Not past the line, however getting close to the line drawn on my arm. The line was drawn on by my doctor for infection purposes. If the infection spread passed that line I would need to go to the ER. Fever also I would need to go to the ER. My arm looked like a crab 🦀 claw. It was inflamed and burning. A burning sensation it felt like that came and gone a few minutes at a time. I remember icing it a lot and elevating it to keep it from spreading. It was so hard to sleep at night. Getting comfortable was a mystery and a challenge. It was so hard to get into a comfortable position just to fall asleep.

 

I started writing a journal to pass the time and take note. This was new territory for me.

A Prayer 🙏over Protection ✝️

Lord rescue me over this poison ☠️ in my body. Save me from how it’s making me sick. This power it is trying to have over me is like a bite from a deadly insect 🕷️ Lord guard me from this power trying to over take me. Save me ✝️from it wanting to take me out. It’s a hidden trap inside me, spread out making me sick. It is a trap. I say to my Lord, you are my God. Listen to my prayer for help. Lord God my mighty savior you protect me in this battle. Lord do not let this infection succeed, and do what it wants.

A week later

April 9, 2024 Today has been a week since the insect bite bit me. Looking a little better everyday🙏 I had some not so good days and some good days! Thank you, God ✝️

April 8, 2024 Yesterday I went back to the doctor and they sent me to the ER in another city close to our city that had an infectious disease doctor there. I guess they didn’t like the looks of the wound. First the ER in that other city wanted to draw my blood 🩸and while waiting to find out the results they sent me to waiting area of the ER. That day was the day of the Eclipse 🌒As I was waiting to find out the results , I was able to walk out side and see the Eclipse 🌒. I will never forget! My results did come back shortly while there and they came back good! They said nothing to be concerned about however they still wanted me tomorrow to see the Infectious disease doctor.

Tomorrow arrives April 9, 2024 Seeing the Infectious Disease 🦠 doctor.
I pray it goes well and that your will be done. Help me Lord to trust and have faith. I am so thankful for all the prayers, txts msgs, phone calls, and meals that family, friends and neighbors have showered me and my family with! Please never let us never forget and to do the same for them. To pray 🙏 over them.

The Infectious Disease 🦠 doctor went well. She just told me that I would have to let it heal and since I was out of the window of them to treat me. For me to just go about what I normally do, like exercise unless it hurts. To go back to my primary doctor to get blood 🩸 drawn a couple of times they way to make sure the spider bite wound didn’t affect my organs.

Tuesday April 23, 2024 Today has been a good day. It was hard to get up and motivated to go to the doctor office to get my blood 🩸 drawn for the infection disease doctor to make sure my organs are in good health. I haven’t had to ice it much. Instead I have been letting it air out to heal. Thank you Gor that I have been doing better 🙏

Thursday April 25, 2024

I had a painful day with my arm. I didn’t sleep well the night before. I itched and was very uncomfortable. That evening I had taken a pain pill and Allegra for the itching. I slept well and had a great day Friday April 26, 2024. I walked, worked in the yard and house. I ran some errands.

Saturday April, 27 2024 It was uncomfortable. I walked and went to a baseball game. That afternoon, I was gived out so I rested in the recliner and went to bed early.

Day by day it’s getting better. The swelling in my arm is going down. The bruise is better and the sores look like they are ❤️‍🩹 healing. Praise God

Monday April 29, 2024 A day shy of being a month since the spider bite. Tomorrow will be a month Tuesday April 30th 2024.

 

May1, 2024 I was emotional, maybe due to being uncomfortable, itchy all over. My arm was sore. I had a hard time being motivated. Instead of having energy, I was sleepy, hard to get comfortable.

May 2, 2024 A better day!

Today it’s been a good day so far! I slept through the night better & without meds. I got up on time, took a shower, prepared breakfast & took my child to school! I came home afterwards & did some chores! Resting now and having bible 📖 time!

The end of the matter, I healed completely with a minimal scare. This is my story to tell and that’s why I have shared my experience with all who read this.
